We are so grateful you are considering sharing your time and talents with the homeless of St. Louis County! Many of our volunteers report that spending time with our clients opens their eyes to misconceptions about the homeless and provides a real satisfaction in knowing that you have helped someone in need.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, with all kinds of talents and with any level of commitment.

Night Sites –
- One of our greatest volunteer needs is additional night sites. Could your congregation host up to ten clients one night a month, providing transportation, food and shelter?
- “On-Call Innkeepers” are occasionally needed to stay overnight at our day site in a private room with a bed. Training would be provided and you select which nights you would like to serve.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES –
Administrative Assistance
Volunteers would assist staff with data entry, mailings, answering telephones, mailings and shredding.
Childcare Assistance
Childcare is needed while parents attend class or have on-site meetings. Volunteers can plan structured activities, read books, or monitor indoor/outdoor play. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday from 9:00-3:30 p.m.
Computer Skills Assistance
One-on-one client assistance with general computer operation incorporating Word and Excel basics as well as helpful tips and tricks and performing internet searches.
Drivers
Volunteers are needed to take clients and/ or their children to doctor’s appointments, job interviews or on field trips using our shelter’s van.
Housekeeping
Volunteers are needed to sanitize toys, clean and organize the children’s activity room, and perform light housekeeping at the day site.
Resume Writer
We are seeking an individual with resume writing experience that is interested in helping develop and write professional resumes for our clients. We will provide a completed resume worksheet for each client that includes all of the information you will need to develop a resume. Having a professional resume is an important step in building self-confidence and helping clients gain employment.
Sorting Donations
Room at the Inn accepts donations daily (clothing, household goods, cleaning supplies, food and more). Volunteers will assist with receiving, loading, unloading, stocking and organizing donations.
