“FORE” It’s not a golf ball that’s coming at you really fast, it’s the Second Annual Charity Golf Outing Benefitting Room at the Inn!

Again this year, Room at Inn and the clients it serves will be the beneficiaries of a generous collaboration between Webster Groves Christian Church and Westborough Country Club. Together, they are presenting a charity golf outing for Room at the Inn to be held at Westborough Country Club on Monday, October 5, 2015.

The kickoff meeting for coordinating the event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9 in the Clubroom of Westborough. Light snacks will be provided.

We are seeking volunteers for a variety of opportunities that will help to make this year’s event even more successful than last year. Whether you have worked a golf tournament or not, if you like meeting new people and want to get involved with a great effort, and have fun doing so, this is for you.

Details of the event and the volunteers we need will be explained at the meeting, which should not last much more than an hour. Subsequent meetings will be held at the same time, either at the Room at the Inn site in Bridgeton or at Westborough Country Club.

Dear friends and supporters of Room at the Inn,

In an effort to offer you the news, events, stories and updates about our shelter in the most efficient manner, we are excited to announce our redesigned Mondays at Room at the Inn e-newsletter!

The redesign comes as we seek ways to reach our audiences with a cleaner and clearer approach. Our new e-newsletter was set up so it can be more easily read on smartphones and tablet devices.

The job is not over, however. We would like you to give us any feedback on how we can better reach you with information that matters to you so we can continue to improve our communications strategy.

If you have ever volunteered, donated, or participated in anyway with our shelter, we invite you to share your stories with us.

Our Community is Stronger Because of You

(BRIDGETON, Mo.) Thanks to your support and generosity, we are proud to say Room at the Inn’s seventh annual Breakfast with the INN Crowd, held Friday, April 24, was truly fabulous. Nearly 400 supporters made their kindness visible this past Friday, demonstrating their commitment to “Strengthening Families and Rooting Communities” – the theme for this year’s event.

“This year, we celebrate how Room at the Inn is making our community better by strengthening families and creating long-lasting roots in our St. Louis community,” said Program Director Valorie Ferlis. “We endeavor to empower those who come to Room at the Inn with skills and knowledge that will help them regain stability in their lives. Your presence today demonstrates your support of this effort and we thank you for joining us in this important work.”

One of the highlights of the breakfast, held at the St. Louis Renaissance Airport Hotel, was a video featuring how Room at the Inn’s network of night sites and community members help improve the lives of our homeless clients and pave a path to a better future.
